Remote Worker Laptop/PC specification

Andy Morrison

PC or Laptop Specifications:

  • The PC or Laptop must be password-protected.
  • It should have Windows 11 Professional installed.
  • A USB headset and camera or integrated camera and microphone are required.
  • A PAID Anti-Virus solution must be installed and kept up to date; free products like AVG Free are not allowed.
    • Paid antivirus solutions offer comprehensive and robust protection, including additional functionalities to ensure user safety and support BrisDoc’s Cyber Essential compliance.
  • The PC should have a minimum of 8 GB memory.
  • The Laptop should be a personal device and NOT a family or employer/corporate laptop.

Internet Connection:

  • A minimum internet connection speed of 10 MBPS+ is required. If there is family utilisation or a shared line, a higher speed may be needed. You can check internet connection speed using www.speedtest.net or www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk.
  • The internet connection must be located in the remote worker’s usual place of residence. Hotel or public Wi-Fi is not supported or allowed. Personal mobile hotspots are supported but must be declared as the method of connection.

Phone:

  • Remote workers must have either a mobile phone and headset or a landline with a headset.
    • In late 2023, BrisDoc will transition to a new telephony system that will be PC-based. At that point, a mobile phone or landline will not be required, but a USB headset will be necessary.

Smartcard:

  • Remote workers must have a Smartcard enabled for BrisDoc.
  • It should have an integrated smartcard reader or an external USB smartcard reader.
