Dr Kathy Ryan
The Medical Director has overall responsibility for clinical leadership, clinical governance and patient safety for BrisDoc. Kathy line manages the Urgent Care and Practice Services Deputy Medical Directors, and the Director of Nursing, AHPs and Governace.
Kathy is the Caldicott Guardian for BrisDoc
Clinical Guardian Team
The Clinical Guardian Team is responsible for the governance of our clinical work. The team is led by Dr Jo Edwards, XXXXXXXXX. The team also have a commitment to shifts in the IUC service.
Clinical Co-Ordinators
The Clinical co-ordinator is the senior clinician on shift and is usually based in the control room at Osprey Court. They work with the shift manager to provide leadership and overview to the service, and to support and advise other clinicians on shift.
Clinical Navigator
The Clinical Navigator is based at Osprey Court and works at peak times, focusing on monitoring patient safety across the service. Working closely with the Shift Manager and WaCCs, the Clinical Navigator is continually risk assessing the queues and upgrading where necessary in order to ensure the best possible care is given to patients that need it most.
Salaried And Self Employed GP’s
We have a mix of employed and self employed GP shifts in the IUC service. The majority of shifts are covered by self employed GPs who work for BrisDoc in addition to other roles. GPs provide face to face assessment (including home visits) and telephone advice.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) , Emergency Care Practitioners (ECP)
Advanced Nurse practitioners and Emergency Care practitioners contribute to our clinical workforce, working within their professional boundaries to see patients independently, providing telephone advice, and face to face consultations, including home visits.
Pharmacists
At busy weekend periods BrisDoc have prescribing pharmacists supporting the clinical team with repeat medication requests and prescribing queries.
