Your line manager will advise how much annual leave you are entitled to. You must take at least the statutory minimum amount, again your line manager can advise what this is.
It is your responsibility to make sure you have booked your annual leave, any remaining leave under the statutory minimum will be lost at the end of the year. Any remaining leave above the statutory minimum can be carried over/bought back.
Our patients need us to be there on all the days when many others are enjoying time off. Bank
Holiday weekends and for other key periods we may have a restricted leave allowance, therefore annual leave will not be granted or until sufficient shifts are filled to allow us to deliver the service.
Your time off is important too – we all need to re-charge batteries and make sure we have essential downtime. In order for you to enjoy the time off you need, it is important that you submit your annual leave request as early as possible for approval. Notice period for requesting annual is outline in the Annual Leave policy.
In order to deliver our service, we do have a limit to the number of people in each role who can be off at any one time. Sometimes you may be able to swap shifts with someone, but be sure to check with your line manager first, and, should not be used in place of using annual leave –swaps can reduce our ability to cover other shifts so again we cannot grant this automatically. Any swaps must be made within the same month.
