Progress Achieved

Across 2023/24, we have maintained a resilient digital infrastructure, ensuring continuous availability to support our services. Managing relationships with over twenty digital suppliers/partners has been pivotal to our operations. We have successfully deployed a new Data Centre solution, enhancing the remote user experience and fortifying digital resilience at Osprey.

Significant advancements have been made to bolster the cyber security of our corporate technology, including laptops and mobile devices, with a focus on safeguarding our digital framework at Osprey Court. Additionally, we have refined our business intelligence capabilities, enabling more efficient data processing.

Through strategic contract negotiations, we have achieved cost savings in mobile and printer expenses. The rollout of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across our email systems aligns us with NHSmail and broader cyber security mandates.

Our Digital Team has been instrumental in developing the improved SevernSide Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) workspace at Osprey Court and piloting a new cloud-based telephony system for SevernSide. We continue to adhere to Cyber Essentials and the Data Protection Security Toolkit, ensuring compliance and data security.

Current State of Play

We continue to plan an improved platform that supports our people, services and patients within our financial, technical/cyber/supplier constraints, whilst maintaining a highly available, robust digital platform and digital support service, whilst horizon scanning for improvement and capabilities that will deliver value for BrisDoc and the population we serve.

Immediate Future

Looking ahead, we are committed to:

  • Upgrading the Wi-Fi infrastructure at Osprey to provide secure, improved connectivity for our co-owners and partner colleagues.
  • Implementing a phased deployment of Sesui, our unified cloud-based telephony platform, at Osprey Court.
  • Enhancing the core infrastructure at Osprey, which will improve both capacity and resilience.
  • Continuing to develop our Business Intelligence Platform to better support decision-making processes.
  • Exploring innovative solutions and tools that could add value to BrisDoc.
  • Prioritising the maintenance and enhancement of our cyber security measures.
  • Piloting mobile working solutions in SevernSide vehicles to streamline operations.
  • Progressing our digital procurement strategy to embrace circular computing, thus reducing our carbon footprint through the use of remanufactured equipment and reinforcing our commitment to environmental responsibility.
